Farruko, born Carlos Efrén Reyes Rosado on May 2, 1991, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, is areggaetón and Latin urban music artist known for his versatility, genre fusion,and bold artistic evolution. He began his career as a teenager by uploadingsongs to MySpace, quickly gaining traction in the underground reggaetón scenethanks to his melodic hooks and lyrical flow.
Farruko released his debut album, El Talento del Bloque, in 2010, at just 18 years old, with hitslike “Su Hija Me Gusta” and “Nena Fichu.” His early work positionedhim as part of the new generation of reggaetón artists alongside acts like JBalvin and Maluma. Over time, he became known for his ability to blendreggaetón, Latin trap, dancehall, dembow, and tropical pop, allowing him toconstantly reinvent his sound.
He achieved mainstream success with hits like “Passion Whine” (featuring Sean Paul), “Chillax” (featuring Ky-Mani Marley), “6 AM” (J Balvin), and “Krippy Kush” (featuring Rvssian). In2021, he released “Pepas,” agenre-bending anthem that fused reggaetón with EDM, becoming a global hit thatdominated charts and dance floors worldwide.
Farruko has collaborated with artists such as Daddy Yankee,Karol G, Ozuna, Pedro Capó, and Anuel AA, and continues to be a trendsetter inthe Latin urban scene.
He has won two Latin Grammy awards and also been recognized bythe Billboard Latin Music Awards and Premios Juventud, including honors forBest Urban Song and Artist of the Year.
