Jerry Rivera

Jerry Rivera, born Gerardo Rivera Rodríguez on July 31, 1973, in Humacao, PuertoRico, is a celebrated salsa singer known for his romantic voice and youthfulcharisma. Nicknamed “El Bebé de la Salsa”during his early career, he became one of the most successful figures in salsaromántica, a style of salsa focused on love, heartbreak, and smooth melodies.

Coming from a musical family — his father a singer, his mothera keyboardist — Jerry began singing at a young age and was discovered by a CBSexecutive after performing at a family wedding. He released his debut album Empezando a Vivir at just 16 years oldin 1989, which included the hit “De laCabeza a los Pies.” But it was his sophomore album, Abriendo Puertas (1990), and especially Cuenta Conmigo (1992), that propelled him to international stardom.

Cuenta Conmigo became one of the best-selling salsaalbums of all time, earning multi-platinum status and featuring timeless hitslike “Amores Como el Nuestro” and “CasiUn Hechizo.” His smooth vocals and romantic lyrics helped attract a newgeneration of salsa fans across Latin America, the U.S., and beyond.

Throughout his career, Jerry has released over 20 albums,exploring a range of genres that include pop and ballads, and has collaboratedwith artists such as Victor Manuelle and Voltio. His genre remains rooted insalsa romántica, although he has also explored fusions with urban and tropicalstyles.

He has received multiple Billboard Latin Music Awards, LoNuestro Awards, and Latin Grammy nominations.
