Rauw Alejandro, born Raúl Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz on January 10, 1993, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a singer, songwriter, and dancer known for blending reggaetón with R&B, pop, and electronic music. Often referred to as “King of Modern Reggaetón,” he is part of a new wave of Puerto Rican artists redefining Latin urban music.
Rauw grew up in a musical household — his father, a guitarist; his mother, a backing singer — and was influenced by artists like Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, and Daddy Yankee. He launched his career in the mid-2010s by uploading songs on SoundCloud, quickly gaining attention for his smooth vocals and futuristic sound.
