Yandel

Yandel, born Llandel Veguilla Malavé on January 14, 1977, in Cayey, Puerto Rico, is areggaetón singer, songwriter, and producer who rose to fame as one half of thelegendary duo Wisin & Yandel. The duo formed in the late 1990s and became adefining force in Latin urban music, known for blending reggaetón with hip-hop,electronic, and tropical rhythms. Together, they released multiplechart-topping albums such as Pa’l Mundo,Los Extraterrestres, and La Revolución, earning a global fan baseand setting new standards for the genre.

In 2003, Yandel released his first solo album Quién Contra Mí, showcasing a smoothervocal style compared to his partner Wisin’s harder rap delivery. After the duoannounced a hiatus in 2013, Yandel returned as a solo act with the album De Líder a Leyenda, which included majorhits like “Hablé de Ti,” “Hasta Abajo,” and “Enamorado de Ti.” The album reached No. 1 on Billboard's Top LatinAlbums chart, marking the beginning of a successful solo journey.

Yandel’s music blends reggaetón, Latin trap, and R&B,often characterized by futuristic beats and melodic hooks. His solo discographyincludes Dangerous (2015), Update (2017), and Quién Contra Mí 2 (2020), all of which feature collaborations withartists like Bad Bunny, Maluma, Ozuna, Natti Natasha, and J Balvin.

He has earned four Latin Grammy Awards and multiple BillboardLatin Music Awards. Known for his versatility and forward-thinking sound,Yandel is also a respected producer and mentor to younger artists in the genre.
